Hello
Just had to share my very inspirational morning.
I was finally allowed out of the shop, thanks sis, so that I could go the thursday morning Wild Oats Knit & Natter. I have really missed the girls, the chatter, and the very varied and inspirational things being created. Needless to say I didn't knit a stitch, but spent the whole time catching up on everyone elses projects.
Inspired by Lucy of 'attic 24' there was a fab stripy bag made in carpet wool, which we decided could be felted if required. The colours were just amazing, deep yet rich. I was discussing the possiblity of kits for the shop. I will of course have to create a sample which will need road testing, won't it!!!!!!!!!!
Lucy's 'Summer Garden Granny Squares' formed the centre of a lap blanket which was fast being completed next to me. If I remember correctly it was in the 'to die for' Rowan cotton.
Would love to show you but I am rubbish at remembering my camera at the moment, sorry. I really must, Must, MUST do better.
At the other end of the table a lovely, delicate blanket was being created from one big granny square made in King Cole Riot DK.
The yarn in the top left of this picture was being used and the effect was amazing. It looked as though the yarn was being changed every row or two at first, then as it got bigger it gave the effect of the yarn being changed part way through a row. It was so effective and looked really complicated, but it was really very simple.
I can feel the need for cushions in the shop.
Opposite me a very delicate pair of socks were appearing on the most beautiful Pony bamboo needles. Both the socks and the needles were georgous.
Why can we not squeeze a few more hours into the day.
It is now 11pm, I really must go to bed. Thanks for a great day ladies.
Hope to join you again soon, with lots of pictures next time.
Good night.
Jo
