Hello
This week I had a lovely old gentleman visit my shop and brought with him a carrierbag of little treasures which I just have to share with you.
I love vintage crochet & would love to make myself a dress from a true vintage pattern. Unfortunately, at the moment time is against me so this is firmly on my wish list.
Anyway, back to the bag of treasures.
This came out first!
Isn't it amazing.
Then this!!
I couldn't believe it, and it just kept getting better.
Finally this appeared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't it one of the most beautiful things you have ever seen?
All hand made and just beautiful.
He told me his wife and mother-in-law had made them over many years (he had more at home), and asked if I had any ideas about what he could do with them.
I asked him to leave his details as I couldn't think straight, but now I have had time to ponder, I would like to buy several of them, and I just might do that.
I have been blown away by them, and would love to hear your thoughts on these lovely pieces.
I will try to write again soon.
Love
Jo
Aren't they absolutely lovely? They could be my mothers. I have a large number of crochet doilies such as these hand made by my Mum over the years. I love the last one shown, the coloured one, she made any number of these for friends and family, I still have all her patterns. Sadly I can't crochet, I can knit and sew but crochet eludes me. Perhaps i should learn.
Love your shop

They are beautiful. I have one similar to the middle one. I bought it in a charity shop in Sedburgh.
I also came here via Attic 24.

If you had the space maybe you could have a little display of the ladies work with their photos - would be a lovely tribute to their talents and might inspire others to have a go. There are lots of vintage inspired people/websites/Facebook pages that might be interested in buying them, they definitely shouldn't be wasted they are lovely.

Wow isn't it amazing when you find a treasure trove like that. The multi coIour one is gorgeous, in the first picture it looks 3d.
I came this way via Attic 24 and see you are living the dream, your own wool shop! I'd love to do that but am not brave enough :)
